What is the right age for this work?
Generally the workshops and retreats are for girls aged 11-15 but girls as young as 10 have done the work and we have successfully supported many older girls 16-22 on the journey.
It’s more about readiness than a number. No matter what age we are, we always need support along the way.
Women of all ages, from maiden to the grand mother have benefited from our workshops, the retreats and support, that is Every Woman's Rite!
Can I make a payment plan to suit my own budget?
Yes absolutely! Once the deposit has been paid the remaining 3/4 of the fee can be put into a payment plan designed by you.
Should I bring my other daughter, or should I just make it special one on one time?
Mother intuition is usually the best guide on this one. One on one time is a quality that really promotes relationship, however it is very special to do this work as a family also. It creates a deeper bond between sisters and a lot more understanding and empathy for each other’s processes. Mothers get support for the sibling rivalry, fights and competitive attitudes as well. It's also more cost effective for you. Rather than paying for separate retreats, you only pay an extra $900 per other daughter..
How do I talk to the school about missing a week?
The sacred work to acknowledge all the personal growth, wisdom and support that is needed for the changes adolescence brings, is not taught in schools. This education provides Her with keys to unlock the wisdom already within Her. It activates memory of her purpose and brings a depth of peace and profound happiness that dispels anxiety and connects to what is Real!
You could encapsulate it as an extra curricular personal growth course or required life education. What she will gain during this week far out weights what she will learn during a week at school.
Schools understand that their curriculum does not extend to everything we need to know and they are happy to aid her Real education if you give them notice.
Every Woman’s Rite can coach and support you with what to say to the school i.e. when to let them know and how to ask them about moving assessments and end of term tests. We also have pro forma letters you can use if you like. Just ask!
Why is it held in the last week of term and not the school holidays?
The cost of the accommodation rises during the holidays and would increase the price of the retreat substantially. Also, it's a chance for all, to unplug from the system without using precious holidays to do so. Its a celebration, an event and it's worth moving things round for this retreat to honour yourself in this unique way.
What if my daughter feels awkward and resistant because she feels she will be the oldest one and it'll be a waste of her time. How do I hold her space but coach her?
This retreat means doing something different to what she’s used to. Intuitively, she knows that it’ll be deep! But the average teen wants to stay with the status quo. We advise you to be understanding of her reaction to the fear of the unknown.
With understanding and empathy, listen to her and try not to react. Take the time to align with your own ‘why’ you have chosen this special uniquie retreat for you both.
Respond by drawing the Mother card, like the Get Out Of Jail Free card. It may trump her reaction, with reason and knowing. It’s your deeper knowing that allows you to do your job as a mother and guide her, when she can not see the outcome. As a mum, you have the life experience to see whats up ahead for her and where shes heading.
It’s your job to help her read the signs, give her the map and to put things into place so that she can navigate the journey with confidence and self worth. This Mother card asks her to trust you…you are worthy of her trust! Don’t forget to tell her that you are choosing it for you too. Mothering a teen requires a whole new skill set than that of mothering a little girl and you need to up-skill too. You would have to do training for any new job you start; this is not only the most precious, but it’s also the most difficult job in the world if you want to do it well.
Come back to ‘why’ you’re doing this. And explain to her that having the information & experiences will broaden what she can choose and how she can create the world she wants, rather than going along with the world you see.
